Position Overview

The SVT Health & Wellness Director (Director) oversees all operations of SVT Health & Wellness to include federal HRSA funding, deeming, grant administrations, staffing, risk management, contract negotiation, strategic planning, budgets, implementation and monitoring of all programs and activities for clinic and wellness services.  Director ensures integration of complimentary medicine with the focus of care on the treatment of the whole person. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise, delegate and work in conjunction with clinic employees in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs for day-to-day operations of SVTHW subject to SVT and SVTHW policies, procedures, and regulations of appropriate Federal and State agencies.
  • Conduct business in accordance with HRSA or other appropriate agency directives, grant award conditions and established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in development and review of SVTHW policies and procedures
  • Work with Medical Director on engaging staff to facilitate changes and ensure integration of health care services meets or exceeds PCMH requirements.
  • Provide overall supervision of SVTHW employees and annual evaluations/peer reviews.
  • Participate in all short-range and long-range strategic planning and goal setting for SVTHW in conjunction with the CEO and senior management team.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring of risk management program for SVTHW
  • Assist in addressing patient/partner concerns
  • Actively participate in Continuous Quality Improvement committee
  • Champion PCMH Patient Centered Medical Home initiatives
  • Maintain strict confidentiality for all patient partners and their families. Protect the security of all patient medical and dental records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained following HIPAA and PPI regulations as outlines in SVT and SVTHW policy and procedure.
  • Follow Federal, State and local legal guidelines to include but not limited to HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA, ICWA
  • Promote communication and program development by participating in clinic and appropriate local health service meetings.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully to all employees and community contacts
  • Develop and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with other local and regional health care providers, agencies, community groups and programs to enhance public relations.
  • Promote facility and SVT programs at every possible opportunity
  • Interface with the medical community as directed to enhance collaborative working relationships and address inter-agency needs and issues.  
  • Assist Grant Writer in seeking and applying for funding opportunities when they support SVTHW goals and mission
  • Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the annual budget in coordination with CEO and CFO.  
  • Establish contracts and agreements within the policies established by the Seldovia Tribal Council.

 

Specifications (Certifications, licensure, prerequisites, special considerations)

  • Reliability – regular attendance is critical to the success of this position.
  • General to advanced knowledge of medical/dental billing and accounting procedures and applications.
  • Ability to give clear direction, assert self in a confident manner, and motivate staff members
  • Ability to build solidarity within a group, motivate staff members, and ability to provide guidance and feedback to help strengthen knowledge/skill areas.
  • Team Player - Ability to work in a team environment
  • Safety Awareness – ability to identify and correct conditions that effect employee safety.
  • Ability to meet or exceed physical demands listed below
  • Ability to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), Hazmat Mask, Ear and Eye Protection, and disposable gloves for cleaning
  • Intermediate to proficient operational knowledge of a computer and keyboard.

Job Requirements

  • Master's Degree Preferred. Field of Study: Healthcare Administration
  • 3+ Years of experience in clinical oversight- Community Health Center experience preferred.
